This privacy policy outlines how Roostr protects the privacy of users of the website and Professionals and Employers who engage with the Roostr platform.

This policy identifies the obligations & requirements of the website users, the professionals and employers engaging with Roostr and our Roostr corporate responsibilities with regards to data handling and protection.

The Roostr website uses cookies to monitor visitors use of the site. This software is provided by Google Analytics which uses cookies to track visitor usage. The software will save a cookie to your computers hard drive in order to track and monitor your engagement and use of the site. The cookie will not store, save or collect personal information. Users using the Roostr website to register with the platform and/ or make contact with the company do so at their own discretion and provide any personal details at their own risk. All personal information is kept private and stored securely until it is no longer required as detailed in the Data Protection Act 1998.

When a user registers with Roostr they consent to their personal data being held under General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Provision of an email address, and selecting the ‘I consent Roostr to contact me’ box indicates acceptance of email communication with Roostr. Users can opt out at any time by un-registering with the platform and all personal data will be destroyed. This data is not used for any purposes other than matching professionals/ employers with vacant shifts and will not be sold to any third parties.

Contact with Roostr via Social Media

Communication, engagement and actions taken through external social media platforms that Roostr participates in are subject to the terms and conditions and privacy policies of that social media platform. Users are advised to use social media wisely and communicate / engage with due care and caution with regards to their own privacy and personal details. Roostr will never ask for personal details through social media platforms and encourages users to wishing to disclose personal information to do so directly with Roostr by email or telephone.

What data is collected and processed


Ensuring your personal data is kept and transferred securely is of the highest importance to us.

Employers and professionals have complete control over the information that they upload to the Roostr site. Information is required for the management of temporary shifts and cover only. Consent to share personal information between employers and professionals on agreement of a job vacancy is given during the registration of personal details.

Detailed personal information is condensed into a profile for sharing with employers on agreement of a job. This is a single page PDF with contact details (name, address, email, phone number) and an overview of skills, qualifications and training and professional registration. Detailed personal details such as training certificates, NMC PIN numbers and DBS certificate numbers are stored on an encrypted hard drive. Roostr pledges to have no paper copies of personal information and the Data Controller (registered with the ICO) has responsibility for ensuring the security of all data controlled by Roostr.

Roostr registered users have the right to check what personal data is held about them. Roostr makes every effort to ensure that data held is up to date and encourages registered users to keep Roostr informed of any changes to personal data and update us accordingly. As a minimum Roostr will ask professionals and employers to review their personal data held annually, or more frequently if reason arises to review.

Roostr will ensure every effort is made to protect personal information. However no method of transmission over the internet whether by email or automatic notification via the app is guaranteed to be 100% secure. In the absence of a security breach Roostr will ensure notification to any relevant parties as soon as the breach has been identified.
